Hinda na natuto.

“Hindi
na tayo natuto sa Northrail. Hindi ba pwedeng maawa tayo sa sarili natin?”
Aquino in the sidelines of an Otso Diretso forum in Cebu City,Cebu.
The
North rail project was a $400-million Chinese loan originally launched during
Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s term as president, but was later cancelled when
reports leaked out that her aides took kickbacks to get it started.
The primary
purpose of the 80-kilometer (50-mile) North Rail project was supposedly to allow
the country's main aviation gateway to be moved out of congested central Manila.
The statement of the former President came after Supreme Court
Associate Justice Antonio Carpio also warned the Duterte administration
publicly that China could seize oil and gas rich Philippine assets in the
disputed South China Sea if the country defaults on payment for a new $62
million loan.
The loan agreement was signed by the
government with China last April 10, 2018 but critics have warned of the
allegedly onerous deal.
Out in the campaign trail
The
opposition is in Cebu to campaign for its Otso Diretso senatorial slate.
He
campaigns for the opposition slate, telling the electorate that the eight from
the opposition is the ‘solution” to such controversial issues hounding the
presidency of Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The
slate which are composed of the following, Romy Macalintal, Gary Alejano, Erin
Tanada, Pilo Hilbay, Samira Gutoc, Mar Roxas, Bam Aquino, and Chel Diokno, are
a better alternative, despite their dismal pre-election survey performance.
“Kung di ka na happy, magbibigay tayo
ng solusyon. Sa akin, ang Otso Diretso, bahagi ng solusyon,” Aquino said.
(If you are no longer happy, let's
find solutions. For me, Otso Diretso offers just that.)
