"I'm alive", President mocks those who spread rumors his dead


The detractors are so fast to make the sitting president unavailable for the country.

One rumor that circulated in Facebook, speculated that the president is already dead and that Vice President Maria Leonor Robredo needs more security personnel to guard her.

This happen when President Rodrigo Roa Duterte skipped an event in Leyte because he was not feeling well.

Cabinet officials gave the reason that “ he was not feeling well” and that he is only human.

The President with his partner Cielito “Honeylet” Avanceña, made use of social media where she posted 3 short videos to belie the speculation that President Duterte is dead.

The first video showed Avanceña holding up a copy of the Philippine Star broadsheet newspaper, with Mr. Duterte seated across the table.

The two succeeding videos featured the President speaking briefly, addressing speculation that he already passed away over the weekend.

“My reaction to my passing away: I will ask God first if He’s available for interview because I will go there. What are your messages? I will bring them with me. Priests, bishops, everyone,” he said.

He added: “And the last wish of the drug addicts, write up a list. I will bring it myself to heaven or to hell, it depends.”

In the second video, President Duterte told those who believed the death rumors to pray for soul.

“For those who believe in the news that I passed away, then I request of you, please pray for me, for the eternal repose of my soul. Thank you,” President Duterte said.

Former Presidential aid and senatorial candidate Christopher “Bong” Go, also made a statement denying the speculation regarding the health of the president.

“Not true. He’s in Davao. He is fine,” Go said 

Presidential daughter and incumbent Davao city Mayor Sara Duterte, said her father was feeling fine.

“I haven’t been called to his deathbed, so I guess he is still okay. The haters can wait, I will post a picture when the time comes,” Mayor Sara said.
