The Senator was arrested last Tuesday by the police for rebellion charges for his role in the 2007 Manila Peninsula seige and easily posted P200,000 bail for his temporary liberty on the same day.

The rebellion case charged against Trillanes is one among the criminal charges revived after President Rodrigo Roa Duterte voided the 2011 amnesty granted by the Aquino administration.

Presscon after presscon the senator has repeatedly stated that he underwent proper procedure in the application of his amnesty with the government.

The Office of the Solicitor General welcomed the issuance of the warrant of arrest against the opposition senator and maintained that the amnesty given to him by the previous administration was void.

"The OSG welcomes the Order of RTC-Makati, Branch 150 upholding the validity of Proclamation No. 572 and the subsequent issuance of a warrant of arrest and HDO against Mr. Trillanes,” Calida said

Trillanes has alleged in his defense that the main reason behind the withdrawal of his amnesty was for him to stop the investigation against Calida over his alleged conflict of interest in government contracts of his family’s security firm.

Trillanes has vowed to pursue legal moves against the officials who are involved thast led to his legal predicament he is in now namely, OSG Jose Calida, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra, and Department of National Defense spokesperson Arsenio Andolong.

"Pagdating ng panahon, 'pag wala na si Duterte, hahabulin ko talaga sila if they insist dito sa ginagawa nilang kalokohan," Trillanes earlier said.

(When the time comes, when Duterte is no longer in power, I will run after them if they insist on this foolishness.)

"Ngayon 'yung magpapagamit, 'yung mga abogadong nagsasalita diyan, ako talaga hahabulin ko ang mga ito. Kakaririn ko kayo," he added.

(Now, those who will allow themselves to be used, these lawyers talking, I will run after you. I will never stop.)

  1. Trililing: "When the time comes, when Duterte is no longer in power, I will run after them if they insist on this foolishness." How can you run after them when the Liberal Party has thrown you under the bus. And another thing: you won't even get to be elected kagawad. All delusions of grandeur.
