I'm not using 'mistah' tradition to influence the military against Duterte- Trillanes

Opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes  IV is still holed up in the safety halls of the Senate.

Fellow lawmaker Magdalo Partylist representative Gary Alejano said the opposition senator is feeling  a little bit under the weather for lack of proper sleep and rest.

Amidst the accusation of the President that there will be a plan to be executed by the big three “Trillanes, Yellows (Liberal Party), and the communists, he says there is no such thing.

He further denies that he is talking to his other “mistahs” who are currently active members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) asking for some help in trying to oust the sitting President- Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

“Hindi ko naman ini-invoke yun. Hindi ko kinakausap mga classmates ko directly. Hindi kami nagre-recruit kasi alam ko I need to respect them enough, na dapat maging loyal sila sa Constitution, (I don’t invoke that. I don’t even talk to my former classmates directly. We don’t even recruit because I know I need to respect them enough for them to be loyal to the Constitution),” Trillanes said.

“So ganun din pati ang (the same goes with the) AFP leadership. Ganun din, we respect them that they know what is a legal order,”said the former Navy lieutenant who is part of the Magdalo group which has staged mutiny during the Gloria-Macpagal Arroyo presidency.

Trillanes, slams the statement of Duterte regarding his claim that he was the one who doubled the salary of the uniformed personnel, when as a matter of fact it was the act of Congress that made the lae for it to come into fruition.

“Iyong sinasabi niyang pag taas ng sahod (nila), dumaan dito sa Senate ‘yun at kami din nag-fast-track nun, (What he was saying about increasing their salaries, that went through the Senate’s legislative mill and we are the ones who did everything to fast track the measure),” Trillanes IV said.

“So, hindi yan dapat isinusumbat sa kanila. Ngayon, kung iyan yung pananaw niya, (So he shouldn’t accuse them of being an ingrate. Now if that’s how they view them), then it’s sad and pathetic,” he said.
