Kingdom of Jordan donates 2 Cobra attack helicopters to the PH

This another good news for the Armed Forces of the Philippines, specifically for the Philippine Air Force.

The country is slated to get two 2 used Bell AH-1F Cobra attack helicopters from the Kingdom of Jordan.

And this would be one of the highlights of the official visit of President Duterte which is scheduled this coming September 6-8.

The Philippines accepted the offer from the Kingdom of Jordan regarding the donation of two refurbished Cobra attack helicopters.

The President made mention of this news during the 120th anniversary of the Philippine Navy last May, and that it was thru the hardwork of National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. that made the donation possible.

This is considered a big boost to the Philippine Air Force inventory since this will be their first time to operate such kind of a helicopter, and will go a long way in the training of their roster of pilots in preparation for other important acquisitions to modernize the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Over the weekend the President is scheduled to make historic visits to Israel and Jordan, both are first for a sitting Philippine president to both countries.

Such visit is considered a big leap in the country’s bilateral partnerships with both Israel and Jordan after decades of diplomatic relations.

Strengthening ties with these nations will promote economic growth, create new employment opportunities and enhance security,” Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)  Undersecretary Abella said.

“A closer relationship with these nations means more opportunity to share expertise with each other in the fields of science, agriculture, industry and counter-terrorism,” Abella added.
