It’s a long journey for her in reaching another milestone in her political career, well after her presidency she was placed in hospital arrest following the multiple cases of graft and plunder that was filed against her by the one who succeeded her in Malacañang- Benigno Aquino Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III.

Being a political ally of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, her being a speaker was considered a win-win for the country, it was under her leadership that the country was able to breeze thru the asian financial crisis- so it was expected that she will be another asset to the present administration.

In a press briefing last Friday at Global Aseana, an industrial park in San Simon , Pampanga, she wittingly or unwittingly made a pitch of support for Duterte’s golden age of infrastructure. She said that while incentives might attract foreign investors, infrastructure and ease of doing business were still the key factors in luring foreign investors here in the country.

She just allayed the fears of some quarters that the proposed tax reform of the Duterte administration may scare away potential investors.

She explains that infrastructure and ease of doing business are vital keys and are most important factors that should be already in place for business ventures with foreign investors.

GMA answered criticisms and cleared concerns that the proposed Tax Reform for Attracting Better and High –quality Opportunities (Trabaho ) bill might shoo away investors in the country as it is perceived to remove some incentives for businesses that longed been enjoyed in the different economic zones in the Philippines.
