Lacson describes Leni Robredo as "a potentially good leader"

Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson weighs in the issue of whether or not the Vice President is incompetent.

A day after the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte clarified something with respect to the would be transition of the country to the federal form of government- that he will not resign so as not for Robredo to succeed her rather he was for the country to elect a transition leader.  Duterte has been very straightforward when he said that Robredo is incompetent in leading the country.

“Siya ang mag-presidente (She will become president)? Look, I will not resign because it will make her president. My resignation is addressed to the people para makapili sila ng gusto nila (so that they can choose who they want). Siya, I don’t think she can ever be ready to govern my country. Reason? Incompetence,” he said.

Administration ally Lacson, believes that Robredo  is “potentially a good leader of our country.” This is his personal response after Robredo has been labelled as incompetent by Duterte.

“One thing going for her, though, is her apparent and genuine concern for the less fortunate sector in our society, which to me is one solid foundation as a potentially good leader of our country,” he added.

Lacson also took note that it was very unfortunate that both Duterte and Robredo as he top two elected officials of the country cannot work together, considering they were both elected by the people.

The Vice President was appointed as the housing czar of the Duterte cabinet but was forced to resign after a few months for differences with the President regarding the policies the administration is implementing.

Lacson has expressed his opinion that regardless of party loyalties and affliations, both the President and the Vice President should be working together for the country.

  1. As for me they can't work together coz robredo is against the president in all aspects what is good to the pres is bad for her and on thing wrong with VP robredo is that she goes every where just to malign the pres and his administration, she spends a lot for her travel and you can see people are not interested to her. What she's Doing all incompetent just like what the president uttered.

  6. Everyone has a potential to be a good leader.. the problem with ROBredo is she is NOT for the country but for few who prodded her to run VP and serves their interests only. For the poor? When did we not hear a politician not helping the poor?Whether they do it actually or not, but politicians always "help the poor "!

  8. Lacson is positioning himself as vice president, just in case Robredo remains a VP and run for president in 2022. That idea is a very long shot. even Lebron James cannot make that shot. As they say in Tagalog, "Suntok sa buwan" ang strategy ni Lacson.
