Change to Federalism to cause Civil War - Sereno

‘Civil war.’

If we are to believe ousted Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, the former top magistatre of the Supreme Court said if the country proceed in changing to federal form of government there would be civil war.

In her speech at the opposition led “United People’s Sona” she warned of a disorganized and chaotic government if the proposed federal Constitution drafted by the Consultative Committee (Con-com pushes through.

She added that the Con-com’s federal Charter was not a document for “hope,” but a document for “desperation” and “showing little importance for the weak.”

These reasons given by Sereno, she says is enough for Filipinos to express dissent against replacing the 1987 Consitution.

Currently, the ousted chief justice is being courted by the opposition to join their senatorial slate that will seek a seat at the upcoming 2019 mid term elections, last May 11 the Supreme Court handed down the denial of Sereno’s Motion for Reconsideration and affirming with finality its Quo warranto decision against her.
