Trillanes fellow Magdalo member, Gary Alejano mulls possible Senate run for 2019

There will be always opposition members in the field of politics.

In the Philippines the political landscape abounds with such kind of personalities, so much so that these so called- opposition politicians are already being branded as “pang gulo” rather than a voice with a different perspective in the creation of national policies for the people at large.

The 2019 mid term elections is more than 1 year from now, but Filipino politicians are already making their respective movement, strategies and possible political alliances. *

Opposition and Magdalo member Senator Antonio Trillanes made a statement that they are pushing for Magdalo party-list Representative Gary Alejano’s  senatorial bid this upcoming mid-term elections.

“Kaya natin tinutulak si Congressman Alejano sa pagtakbo sa senador itong 2019 ay para may titindig pa rin laban sa mga pang-aabuso nito Duterte,” Senator Trillanes said.

(The reason why we are pushing Alejano to run for Senate this 2019 is so that there will be someone to stand against the abuses of Duterte.)

Sought to comment regarding the statement released by his “mistah” Gary Alejano said he would adhere to the decision of the Magdalo executive committee on his possible senatorial run next year.

“I am grateful for Senator Trillanes’ trust and belief on my qualifications, especially given the importance of the position in question and the responsibilities it bears,” Alejano said.

“On my part, I believe that the cause we started in 2003 for the country is a lifetime commitment; and I strive to always act in line with the principles Magdalo has stood for,” Magdalo Party-list Rep. Alejano said.

“Henceforth, whatever decision the group will have, I will adhere to the wisdom of the body,” Alejano added.

Alejano said that the Magdalo executive committee is currently in the process of deciding their degree of participation in the 2019 mid-term elections.  *

The group is also awaiting the results that will come in from the ongoing consultations among the different Magdalo local chapters and from other allied groups nationwide.
