Imee Marcos on Duterte: My father would have been proud of Duterte

Rodrigo Duterte is like the second coming of the late Ferdinand Marcos, agree?

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has been open telling the media that he is a fan of the late strongman, the achievements and the policies of Marcos that up until now the country is benefitting. His actions and the way he thinks have been closely interpreted like the former President.

The act of letting the former President to be laid to rest in the Libingan ng mga Bayani, was interpreted by the critics of the president to be the last draw and linking him to everything that is in contrast to the spirit of EDSA revolution in 1986. *

Ever wonder  if Apo Lakay was still alive and he was able to see what is Duterte doing right now for the Philippines what could have been his answer?

Current Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos said in a press briefing in Quezon city if her father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos were alive, he would be proud of President Rodrigo Duterte and his administration.

"I think tuwang-tuwa 'yon kay Duterte. Una, pareho silang abogado. Ikalawa, matutuwa kasi napakatapang," Governor Marcos said.

The Governor thanked the President for taking notice of the Ilocano soldiers that was assigned in Marawi to fight the Maute group.

Also, the Gov. mentioned her family's ties with the Dutertes.

"Tuwang-tuwa naman kami sa isa't-isa. Higit sa lahat, I think there's a family connection, if you recall. The father of President Duterte was the general services secretary in the Cabinet of my father. So magkakilala na sila noon pa."

Imee said she backed Duterte when he was still campaigning for the presidency in 2016, "dahil naniwala ako sa kaniya na siya lang ang makakapagbigay ng pagbabago."   *

The Governor from Ilocos Norte applauded Duterte for bringing "change" in the country, including the achievements in the campaign against illegal drugs.

I think we are really seeing a transformational leader and hindi kami nagkamali. Hindi po kami nagsisisi."
