Is this the wish of Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque
for the mother of all drug lords?
A few days back the Presidential Spokesperson greeted
detained opposition Senator Leila de Lima on her first year-“On the one year
anniversary of Senator Leila de Lima’s incarceration, let me first
greet Sen. Leila de Lima a happy anniversary.”

The senator in her answer to the greeting of the
Presidential Spokesperson said that the latter has bartered his reputation and
dignity for political gain.
“As I said, happy anniversary on your first year of
detention. May you spend the rest of your life in jail,” Roque said in a news
briefing as reply to the statement made by the opposition senator.
Roque branded De Lima as “a living
symbol that the Philippines has become a narco-state with her election in
office funded by drugs.”
“Senator De Lima’s incarceration
shows that the criminal justice system in the Philippines is alive,
effective and working.” he said “Senator De Lima has been detained because of
drug charges. She is the mother of all drug lords by allowing the illegal drug
trade to proliferate inside the National Bilibid Prison when she was the Department
of Justice Secretary.”
The Presidential Spokesperson further adds that
De Lima should refrain from influencing the outcome of her case and just let
the legal process proceed accordingly” as her cases were pending in
courts.
Senator De Lima has denied all the allegations
thrown at her by the Duterte administration, and has vowed this will not
silence her in criticizing Malacañang. And has called all this circus a
political persecution being waged by President Rodrigo Ros Duterte against her.
