“It is always God’s plan na masusunod. Ilalagay ka talaga ng Diyos kung saan ka man (God will put you where you are meant to be),” said Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio in front of a crowd of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who went to be with her in Chan Meng Kam Theater in Macau for the Tapang at Malasakit  Alliance for the Philippines gathering last Saturday.

The boisterous crowd of OFWs kept on shouting and egging the Davao mayor to run for president in 2022, that will make her replace her father President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for president when the latter ends his term.

Inday Sara, refused to give in to what the OFWs wanted to hear from her about her political plans, although the Davao mayor clarified that a running for a Senate seat is not in her plans.

On a weekend, were OFWs are mostly in their day off, Mayor Sara and other members of the Tapang and malasakit held a separate gathering yesterday ( Sunday) at Post Office in Central Hong Kong that drew thousands of Filipinos to watch and be part of that event.     *

The mayor apologized to the of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) that it took her family two years to personally thank them for their support for her father’s administration.

“We would have wanted to come earlier but it is only now that we are able to finally find the time and our schedules fit,” said Mayor Inday Sara, who was accompanied by her younger brother Sebastian.

“Nandito kami para magpa-picture (We’re here to have our pictures taken),” Duterte-Carpio said in jest, saying she would not leave the venue until the last OFW asking for a photo with her has left.

The Davao city mayor lauded the courage and sacrifice of all the  Overseas Filipino Workers   have to endure , so that they can help back their families in the Philippines.  *
