Is this one of those destabilization plots again?
And it seems the characters involve are already a who’s who
in American politics, this time the top honcho of the United States of America-
President Donald Trump. The news is barely a week old , when the World Threat
Assessment Report pinpointed President Rodrigo Roa Duterte as a threat to
democracy. There’s a new report again involving the Philippine President.
The Axios report earlier released a report which cast a dark
cloud on President Rodrigo Roa Duterte which we all know the opposition will
milk it for all it worth with the help of mainstream media. *

The report says that the President of the United States of
America has often been floating the idea of executing drug dealers in the US.
And in this discussion , Donald Trump would always make a reference to the
Philippines under the Duterte administration wherein suspected drug
personalities are killed.
Axios, cites five sources who have spoken to US President
Donald Trump about that topic, and all five points to Trump’s admiration to the
drug policies of China and the Philippines.
“He (Trump) often jokes about killing drug dealers...
He’ll say, ‘You know the Chinese and Filipinos don’t have drug problem. They
just kill them,’” a senior administration official told Axios.
During the ASEAN 50 celebration
that was held in the country last year, Donald Trump in contrast to the action
done by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appeared “symphathetic” when President Rodrigo
Duterte discussed the drug problem in the Philippines, presidential
spokesperson Harry Roque said.
The US President and the Duterte in a leaked
telephone conversation between the two, the former even congratulated the
latter for his administration’s crackdown against the proliferation of illegal
drugs in the country.
“Many countries have the
problem, we have a problem, but what a great job you are doing and I just
wanted to call and tell you that,” Trump told Duterte. *
The report also noted
that Trump also admires Singapore’s mandatory death penalty for drug
traffickers.
“He (Trump) says, ‘When
I ask the prime minister of Singapore do they have a drug problem [the prime
minister replies,] ‘No. Death penalty,’” a source told Axios.
According to the report,
US President Trump believes that a
softer approach to drug reform is ineffective in the United States.
