Davao City declares Senator Antonio Trillanes IV PERSONA NON GRATA

I think the senator from Bicol did not expect this coming.

Positioning himself as the arch nemesis of the President of the Republic of the Philippines, there has been no let up in his attacks and criticisms to the president himself and to the members of the first family.

It even reached the International Criminal Court in the Hague when the senator along with Magdalo representative pal  congressman Gary Alejano filed a supplemental complaint supporting Sabio’s accusations.  Atty Jude Sabio was the one who initiated the ICC action based from the Senate testimony of self-confessed former Davao death squad member Edgar Matobato. *

Davao, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s hometown and bail wick just had enough of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV. The Senator is no longer welcome in Davao City this after Davao City he was declared as persona non grata last Tuesday.

Davao City Vice Mayor Bernard Al-Ag said Trillanes was declared persona non grata for describing the city as "the most dangerous city in the Philippines" where the crime rate is high.

"Mr. Trillanes, you will not succeed in destroying our city. You will not succeed in destroying our beloved President Rodrigo Duterte... We do not need you here in Davao City. You are unwelcome and unwanted in our city of Davao," Al-Ag said in a privilege speech.

The Vice Mayor also added that the senator is his foreign trips always speaks negatively of the city of Davao.

The Davao City Council approved the motion to declare the president’s number 1 critic  persona non grata during its regular session.

In 2017 the senator was quoted in saying that Davao City is the no. 1 city that recorded the most number of murder cases and the second most number of rape cases.

"Hindi naman paraiso ang Davao City gaya ng pinapangalandakan nila... May peace and order ba doon? Hindi. It is one of the most dangerous places in the country," Trillanes said in a media briefing last year. *

"The truth, definitely, hurts... The people of Davao either know it but tolerate it out of fear or they've actually believed the lie that was fed to them that Davao City is the safest city in the world," was Senator Trillanes reaction to the action of Davao when he exposed the real crime rates of the city.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque cannot hide his smile when the Malacañang press corps ask him about the Davao City resolution.

"I do not know how you want me to react because I speak for the President, and I cannot say anything other than congratulations to Davao City," he said
